About

A closer look at the systems, responsibilities, and technical foundations behind my work.

About

I am a software engineer working where security, platform engineering, and data-intensive systems meet. At IBM, I help build and operate software-supply-chain, vulnerability-management, compliance, and data-platform capabilities at enterprise scale.

My work spans backend services, distributed processing, cloud-native delivery, data modeling, performance engineering, and practical AI-assisted workflows. I care about systems that are inspectable, resilient, and useful—not technology for its own sake.

This site is where I document that work, publish what I learn, and keep a durable record of projects and research.

Experience

  1. 2022

    1. IBM

      Software Engineer, Security

      Durham, NC

      • Designed, automated, and operated secure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and platform services for large-scale software delivery in collaboration with security and product stakeholders.
      • Integrated software-composition and container-image scanning into Tekton pipelines, enabling real-time compliance visibility during zero-day events across more than 1,800 products.
      • Designed AI-assisted reporting workflows with Watsonx Orchestrate and Watsonx.data, including decision branches, automated approvals, triggers, and connectors supporting 20 daily workflows.
      • Built Slack-based compliance workflows that aggregate vulnerability status, handle report requests, and route severity-based alerts.
      • Built asynchronous FastAPI services with Celery and RabbitMQ to process more than 10 GB of vulnerability data daily.
      • Improved PostgreSQL queries by as much as 105× through time-based partitioning, composite indexes, and query-driven tuning.
      • Reduced cloud storage costs by 54% through schema redesign, deduplication, PostgreSQL TOAST optimization, and GIN indexing.
      • Delivered more than 100 CycloneDX-conformant SBOMs with automated generation, artifact versioning, and distribution aligned with CISA guidance, FedRAMP audit needs, and security-review timelines.
      • Implemented an Apache Iceberg and Presto data lakehouse on Watsonx.data, then moved security-data ingestion to a near-real-time StreamSets pipeline that reduced availability latency from 24 hours to 15 minutes.
      • Deployed containerized microservices through Kubernetes, Tekton, ArgoCD, and OpenShift ROKS.
      • Codified disaster-recovery workflows and reusable Terraform modules supporting a three-hour recovery time.
      • Applied RBAC, ABAC, column-level encryption, centralized secrets management, structured audit logging, event tracing, and compliance-focused observability to sensitive security data.
      • Presented infrastructure and application architecture to senior stakeholders and the Security Review Board, including trade-offs, attack vectors, and mitigation guardrails.
